The three retirees, Arlene French (grade two teacher at Hillside School), Ed Modica (grade five teacher at Brookside) and Peter Wasek (grade six teacher at Brookside), have a total of 111 years of service in the Allendale Schools. Association recognizes district’s retiring educators Library sponsors contest for children Allendale residents in kindergarten through grade 12 are encouraged to submit photographs for a contest at the library. Prizes will be given for in three categories: kindergarten through grade four, grades five through eight, and grades nine through 12. Students must be about to enter the grades listed. Entries can be black and white or color and should feature a person, place, or object found in Allendale. The public will vote at the library to decide the winners, and voting will begin at the City Winds Trio Family Concert on July 20 at 7 p.m. All entries will be on display in the library starting on that date. To enter, submit a hard copy of the photograph to Mrs. Tara at the library. Entries are limited to one per person and should be no smaller than 3x5 and no larger than 8x10.
