Camp Edge will take place in Fellowship Hall, located behind the church, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will meet for a light meal, games, crafts, music, and stories from the Bible. Wrestling clinic offered The Pascack Wrestling Clinic, directed by National Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach Bucky Rehain, will be held June 29 through July 2 and July 6 through 10 at Wandell School, 97 East Allendale Road in Saddle River. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn wrestling techniques such as takedown and pinning. The clinic is open to wrestlers ages seven through 15. All boys entering first through fifth grades are encouraged to join. The program fee is $90. Registration forms are available at the library or from the website usrscouts.com. Vacation Bible School set Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church in Upper Saddle River offers children from age three through elementary school to its Vacation Bible School, which will be held Aug. 3 through 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is “Crocodile Dock: Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light.” All children are welcome at this interdenominational Christian program. Children will participate in God’s amazing Bible adventures and learn to watch for God in everyday life. Each day, the children will sing songs, play team-building games and enjoy snacks at the Snack Shack. They will collect Bible Memory Buddies like Jacques Le Croc, the friendly crocodile who shows that God is powerful. They will also create Crawfish Crafts to take home. Preschoolers will enjoy a special program designed just for them. The children will join nearly a million other kids by taking part in a mission project of providing stuffed turtles, known as Comfort Critters, to children worldwide who have been victims of natural disasters. The cost for the week is $25 for Bergen Highlands children, and $35 for all others. After July 15, the cost increases to $45 for non-Bergen Highlands children. Newcomers seek members Saddle River Valley Newcomers Club welcomes new members from Saddle River and Upper Saddle River and surrounding communities. A multi-level class will be held every Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. At 11 a.m., Cece will lead a brand new seniors’ class called Gentle Stretch Yoga. Classes will run approximately one hour. Registration is required. Cece’s classes are designed to develop strength, coordination, and flexibility, and to relieve stress and anxiety and sharpen mental focus. Enrollment is limited. Bereavement support group forming The Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River is offering a bereavement support group that is open to the public. There will be eight sessions with trained facilitators. Topics include family systems, family changes, elements of grief, loneliness, anger, guilt, and healing.
