Dormer and Krista Johnson, juniors at Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale and residents of Upper Saddle River, have received the Girl Scout Gold Award by helping to transform and decorate a new residence for homeless and addicted mothers and their children at Eva’s Village in Paterson. The Gold Award is the highest and most demanding award a Girl Scout can achieve. This honor requires leadership, determination, perseverance, and creativity. Dormer, who mobilized the volunteer efforts of family, friends, and local businesses, worked throughout the summer to completely transform an overgrown, dingy area behind the facility into a beautiful, functional patio.
