Reflections On Ramsey Businesses
ward-winning decorator Susan Tenny, C.I.D., provides a complete inhome or in-office interior decorating service by bringing thousands of samples of drapery fabrics, furniture, carpet and area rugs, wall coverings, and accessories directly to her clients. She then is able to design the room in the client’s own lighting and existing furnishings. “Working this way tends to be very comfortable for the client as they can really see what works in the room, plus it’s a huge time-saving convenience.” Susan specializes in “Lifestyle Design,” which is all about the client’s personal style, taste, functional needs, and budget. “My clients really enjoy working with a knowledgeable decorator who is the owner of the company, rather than trying to select pieces by themselves with only the aid of a salesperson who may not be around when your order is supposed to be placed. “We don’t charge design fees or hourly Susan Tenny, C.I.D. rates nor do we have ‘minimums.’ I pride myself on my ability to work within my clients’ budget, custom designing the room for function, comfort, beauty, cohesiveness, and flow. By taking careful measurements and making floor plans, we avoid expensive mistakes. We handle all the details, ordering, and scheduling, and are personally on-site to supervise installation and delivery. We follow up with our clients afterwards, as their complete satisfaction is of the utmost importance. “My clients are working directly with a small business owner who has the power of a large established company behind her,” she adds. “Unlike a store, we have no inventory or loyalty to a particular manufacturer. We listen to our clients and put their needs first as we make our choices from hundreds of vendors.” Susan is ready to help clients with projects of any size, whether it’s just one window treatment, a room that needs one or two updates, or a large-scale makeover. LA Sunset Tan offers celebritystyle service and surroundings
T
reat yourself to celebritystyle service in the luxurious surroundings of LA Sunset Tan. This upscale tanning salon franchise is already famous on the West Coast, where it is the subject of a new reality television series. Just five months ago, owner Inez Gioffre opened the doors to her own salon at 27 East Main Street, Ramsey, bringing LA Sunset Tan to its first location on the East Coast. With 25 years of experience in the salon and spa business, Inez recently decided to branch out into tanning. All of her Andrea Vanmansart, owner Inez Gioffre, and Kelsey Lang research drew her to LA Sunset Tan, which offers high quality customer care in luxurious, sophisticated surroundings at a price equal to, if not better than, the competition. The futuristic décor at her Ramsey location includes fresh cut flowers, lit candles, silk draperies, and plasma televisions. In the West, LA Sunset Tan caters to celebrities, Inez notes. At her Ramsey location, everyone is welcome, and everyone leaves feeling like a celebrity, she adds. LA Sunset Tan features a wide array of state-of-the-art tanning beds, and all employees are Smart Tan certified, so each client can build the perfect tan with the proper exposure. Those who prefer other tanning options will want to learn more about LA Sunset Tan’s air-brushing service, which results in a healthy-looking glow courtesy of all-natural botanical products fortified with antioxidants. The Versa Spa, a sunless tanning tower, allows clients to get a golden tan in the comfort of an open booth. Be sure to visit the boutique, which features LA Sunset Tan swimwear and apparel, and Laguna Beach jeans and apparel. An added luxury in bustling, downtown Ramsey is a designated parking area for LA Sunset Tan clients. LA Sunset Tan is open seven days a week, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Hours last until 10 p.m. on weeknights and until 8 p.m. on weekends. Call (201) 327-0034 for more information or an appointment.
ow celebrating its fourth anniversary in Ramsey, Brady’s at the Station is growing by leaps and bounds. Owner John Brady has established a reputation for providing award-winning fare, including Irish specialties and the not-so-Irish Best Chili in Bergen County (according to Bergen Health & Life magazine). When he decided to start his own venture, John already had nearly two decades worth of experience bartending and managing restaurants in Manhattan and in Queens. With the aid of a Realtor, John found his current location at 5-7 West Main Street, formerly Trackside Inn, and the word spread. Brady’s serves lunch and dinner. Start with an appetizer of mussels, artichoke and shrimp dip, or grilled garlic shrimp. There is a delectable selection of soups, including beer cheese soup, and lobster bisque. Entrée selections include Guinness John Brady Irish stew, an award-winning shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips, and Jameson grilled hanger steak and shrimp that features whiskey garlic sauce. Wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and pastas are also offered. Be sure to ask about the daily specials. For dessert, try the New York Blackout, a chocolate cake with a sweet pudding filling. Tartufo and Nestle’s Tollhouse cookie pie are other great choices. Each day brings another reason to visit Brady’s. All major sporting events are televised here, and sports fans are welcome! On Sundays, come for brunch; the full Irish breakfast includes sausage, rashers (a meaty bacon), savory black and white pudding, eggs, fries, and Irish soda bread. Brunch dishes also include eggs Benedict, omelets, french toast, pancakes, and an assortment of wraps. Monday night’s special is prime rib for $15.95, Tuesday features Irish specialties for $12.95, and Wednesday features Italian dishes for $12.95.
