Board of education to meet The Upper Saddle River Board of Education will meet on Monday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the media center of the Cavallini Middle School located at 392 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River. Singles support group offered The Church of the Presentation is offering a series of sessions for individuals who are coping with divorce or ending a relationship. Some of the topics to be addressed are discovering yourself; unique dreams, wants and needs; introducing new relationships within your support system; employment and financial changes; honoring the grief and regrets that arise; facets of dating and creating new relationships; and creating a spiritual environment to fit your new life. These sessions will begin on Thursday, Jan. 29 in meeting room four at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Presentation located at 271 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River. Cultural Center offers children’s classes The Saddle River Valley Cultural Center located at 305 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River is offering winter classes for toddlers/preschoolers, and children. The cost for classes that run 10 weeks is $135. The 12-week classes are $160 plus materials. Classes for toddlers and preschoolers include: Little Art Explorers on Wednesdays for ages three through five, 10 weeks, from 1 to 1:45 p.m.; Cooking for Mommy & Me on Thursdays for ages three through five, 12 weeks, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.; Tons of Fun Mommy and Me on Fridays for ages three through five, 12 weeks, from 9:15 to 10 a.m.; Mommy & Me & Music on Fridays for ages two through four, 12 weeks, from 10:15 to 11 a.m.; and Ballet for Beginners on Fridays for ages three through five, 12 weeks, from 12:15 to 1 p.m. or 1 to 1:45 p.m. Kids Corner classes are for ages five-and-a-half and up and include: Cooking Around the World on Mondays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for eight weeks for $190; Fine Arts will meet on Tuesdays for 12 weeks from 4 to 5 p.m.; The Secrets of Magic meets on Wednesdays for six weeks for $100 from 4 to 5 p.m.; Junior Art Explorers meets on Wednesdays for
10 weeks from 4 to 5 p.m.; Hip Hop Dance Class meets on Wednesdays for 12 weeks from 4 to 5 p.m.; Crafts & Chocolate Workshops on Thursdays for 12 weeks from 4 to 5 p.m.; and karate on Saturdays for 12 weeks from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. School vacation workshops will be offered during the winter and spring breaks. They will run two day for $95 and meet from 9 a.m. to noon. On Feb. 16 and 17, On the Shores & Under the Sea will be offered. SRV Newcomers Club plans events The Saddle River Valley Newcomers Club has planned a full schedule of events. Support for separated, divorced individuals The Church of the Presentation’s newly separated or divorced ministry is offering sessions beginning Monday, Jan. 26 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. to provide a healing process for its participants. Learn the process of change, communication, self-awareness, and paths for human growth and self esteem. Trained team members will facilitate these sessions. The group will meet in the gather room south of the Church of the Presentation located at 271 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River. Singles plan pizza evening The Singles Ministry at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River invites singles to join the group for pizza and music on Jan. 24 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. in the community room. The $10 cost includes pizza and two drinks (soft drinks/wine/beer). Additional drinks will be available for purchase. Volunteers are needed to help with the 6 p.m. set up, cleanup, and with serving the pizza. Anyone available to volunteer should call the hotline and leave your name. Parents are invited to meet the staff and tour the center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Located at 98 Pleasant Avenue in Upper Saddle River, the Rodie Center offers full and part time infant and toddler care, nursery school and kindergarten for children ages six weeks to six years. Bereavement support group forming The Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River is offering a bereavement support group that is open to the public. There will be eight sessions over eight weeks with trained facilitators. Topics include family systems, family changes, elements of grief, loneliness, anger, guilt, and inner healing.
