The Republican council member was last elected to the council in 2007. He has also been active with the Knights of Columbus. Before taking a post in private industry, Sciolaro was district manager for former Congresswoman Marge Roukema. He was responsible for managing all congressional office operations including program implementation and staffing. Sciolaro received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and master’s degree with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University. The new council president has previously stated the importance of wisely managing the borough’s parks to ensure their long-term viability and to continue to derive the maximum benefit they provide. He has also stated the importance of examining how the borough delivers vital services and finding cost effective methods to deliver those services without sacrificing quality. Among the countries he visited with North Korea, South Korea, and the western and eastern seaboards of the United States. All students at the academy spend part of their sophomore and junior years at sea, gaining practical knowledge about the performance and operating characteristics of various types of merchant vessels. They become familiar with the ocean trade and routes of the world. The son of Mark and Nancy Schwind, Midshipman Schwind is a graduate of the Bergen Academy High School. He was nominated to attend the academy by Congressman Scott Garrett. The academy trains young men and women from across the nation as licensed merchant mariners, U.S. Navy Reserve officers, and the future leaders of America’s transportation industry. A federal institution, the academy is operated by the Maritime Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
