Donations sought for Project Graduation One of the many traditions at Northern Highlands Regional High School is the annual Project Graduation celebration. The nationwide activity for new high school graduates was introduced over 15 years ago by the U.S. Department of Transportation as a means of keeping graduating seniors safe from the perils of drinking and driving on the high-risk night of graduation. Project Graduation has evolved into a huge alcoholand-drug- free graduation party planned and executed by a committee of Highlands’ parent volunteers. Planning is currently underway for the Class of 2009. The event will be funded primarily through student assessments and other fundraisers, but due to the high costs of throwing a party for over 250 students in the middle of the night, the committee is looking for the support of local families and businesses. The community has been incredibly generous in the past, which is why this event is always a memorable success. Financial contributions can be mailed to: “Project Graduation 2009,” c/o Bridget Egan, 93 Sheri Drive, Allendale, NJ 07401. Fashion Show donations sought The Allendale Woman’s Club Fashion Show Committee is in need of items for its fundraiser gift baskets. All proceeds generated from the “Fashion for Food” event will be donated to charity, with the primary beneficiary designated as the Center for Food Action. The fundraiser will be held on April 15 at Seasons in Washington Township. Contact Liane Hamilton at (201) 760-1924 to drop off a contribution. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to purchase an ad in the fashion show program. For more information, contact Marie Caliendo at (201) 760-0282. Tickets to Fashion for Food are $60 per person and may be purchased by mail by contacting Lisa Monard at (201) 236-9844 or via e-mail at lmonard@optonline.net.
