Walter F. Haddock, formerly of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, died Nov. 24. He was 89. His was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired postmaster having worked in Midland Park and Fair Lawn. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both in Midland Park. He is survived by his children John Haddock of Sarasota, Florida, Nancy Lichtenberg of Rockaway and Karen Hofman of Easton, Pennsylvania, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife Beretha Haddock, and his brother Edward J. Haddock. Arrangements were made by the Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He is survived by his children Michael of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas of Park Ridge, and Dana Lenehan of Rutherford, three grandchildren and his brother Fr. He was 76. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. From 1954 until his retirement in 1988, he worked in accounting and finance for IBM Corporation. He was a member of the Tipperary Association, the Thomas Davis Irish Players, the Irish Arts Forum of Rockland County and the Bergen County Players of Oradell. In 2007, he was nominated by the New Jersey Association of Community Theater for Outstanding Production of a Musical. He is survived by his wife Judith Keenan Maher, his daughter Susan Maher Greco, and two granddaughters. He was predeceased by his first wife Pat Moffett, his son, Johnny (USMC), his parents Edward Maher and Mary Ellen O’Gorman Maher, his sister Maureen Maher Kitson, and his brother Edward Maher. Nicholas Peluse of Glen Rock died Nov.24. He was 58. He was senior vice president of Convergex for many years. He was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s RC Church in Ho-Ho-Kus. He served as president of the Glen Rock Jaycees, coached youth baseball and soccer, and was a member of the Sorin Society for alumni of University of Notre Dame. He is survived by his wife Vicki (nee Rodgers), his children Matt Peluse and Angie Peluse, his mother Rose Peluse, and his brothers Bob Peluse and Jack Peluse. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Upper Saddle River and a member of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She is survived by her children Jeffrey Sigl of Medway, Massachusetts, and Joette Fenwick of Montvale, and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Carl. Arrangements were made by C.C. She was 100. She was an interior decorator with Windsor Interiors in Ridgewood. She was a chartered member of the Ridgewood Woman’s Club, a member of the board of directors of the Social Service Club of Ridgewood, a founder of Meals on Wheels, and was active in various charitable organizations in Ridgewood. She was the last surviving member of the Ridgewood High School Class of 1927. She is survived by her nephew Thomas Hartnett of Ridgewood and a great nephew James Chao Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts. Dolores Carmen Torralbas of King George County, Virginia, formerly of Waldwick, died Nov. 20. She was 79. She had been a teacher and principal at Waldwick High School. She is survived by her daughters Ann T. Cocke of King George County, Virginia and Annette Toralbas of Vienna, Virginia, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Ruben R. Torralbas. A memorial service will be held on Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at Saint Luke’s Catholic Church in Ho-HoKus. Barney Van Dyk of Ridgewood, formerly of Wyckoff died Nov. 22. He was 102. In his early years growing up in Paterson, he sold fruits and vegetables off the back of a horse drawn wagon. Later he operated a thriving butcher shop and grocery store on Park Avenue in Paterson. He and his two sons operated Van Dyk Manor in Ridgewood for Patricia A. Swarts Patricia A.
