Join Master Gardener Janet Schulz at the Waldwick Public Library as she presents present a slide lecture, “Beyond Daffodils,” on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. With a nod to the familiar daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths, this 40-year veteran gardener will suggest more exotic varieties of spring flowers that are easy to plant and rewarding to display. The program will include practical tips for fall planting and solid advice on selection, purchase, feeding, storage, and protection of bulbs. Schulz is an active member of the Wyckoff Garden Club and a past New Jersey director of the Tri-State Hosta Society. The gardens of her Wyckoff home have been featured in the Garden Conservancy Days tours. She is currently serving as District One Director of the New Jersey Garden Club. This bulb-gardening program is free and open to the public; however, space is limited and pre-registration is recommended. Participants are encouraged to come early to browse the library’s display of gardening books. The library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick.
