Like his mentor, Steccato is a certified master of photography, a distinction held by only three percent of the world’s professional photographers. In order to maintain his certification, he must constantly update his training in the latest techniques and technologies, and, every five years, submit a score of his photographs to a panel of judges for a Jeffrey Steccato review of quality. Steccato handles multiple responsibilities in the studio, and oversees printing, framing, and retouching. While Haviland is known for commercial portraits, business headshots, team and individual sports photos, and website and catalogue images, Steccato particularly enjoys family portraiture. He encourages families to gather together, and allow him to capture a moment in time for them. This master photographer is known for putting people at ease and posing them naturally, so each image tells a story. When he is not at his studio, Steccato enjoys taking photos of scenery. He recently published a book of his images of the ghost towns of the Old West, and often exhibits at gallery shows. Haviland Photography is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call (201) 444-4567 for an appointment.
