Ho-Ho-Kus April 15, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 9 Council plans updates for lot coverage requirements The Ho-Ho-Kus Council recently introduced an ordinance that would amend the minimum open space requirements for swimming pools located within the three residential zones throughout the borough. The ordinance will be discussed, and considered for final passage, at an April 28 public hearing, which will be held at borough hall at 8 p.m. If the ordinance is adopted as introduced, Chapter 85 The Fifth Annual Ducky Derby Day is planned for Saturday, June 6, and plans for the adoption the rubber ducks is underway. This year, duck adoptions will be available through the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the school. Starting on Wednesday, April 15, ducks may be adopted at the Ho-Ho-Kus School or at Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall. On June 6, as the ducks get ready to compete, the residents of Ho-Ho-Kus and their guests will enjoy a sidewalk sale, carnival rides and games, good food, and the activities of Ho-Ho-Kus youth performing on the borough stage. Ducky Derby Day to return June 6 This year, activities will start at 2 p.m. The Ducky Derby Race will start at 5 p.m. in Ho-HoKus Brook. The rubber ducks will be placed in the brook, where they will race to the finish line. Owners of the winning ducks will receive prizes. All proceeds benefit HoHo-Kus Recreation and the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. The same regulations would apply to pools of up to 700 square feet that are located in the R-2 single family residential zone. In the R-3 single family residential zone, the code would be amended to allow a pool of up to 450 square feet to be exempted from the maximum improved lot coverage calculation subject to the installation of a seepage tank sized for draining the pool in accordance with the Ho-Ho-Kus borough engineer.
