Forty-three students earn AP Scholar recognition
Glen Rock High School has listed 43 students who have been awarded the distinction of Advanced Placement Scholar by the College Board. This honor recognizes the students’ exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement examinations taken in May. The AP exams are scored from one through five, with five being the top score. Ten Glen Rock students qualified for the Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of three or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are: Devon Fisher, Allison Har-zvi, Kaitlin Howe, Ariel Kay, Ki-Yoon Kim, Jesse Mark, Michael Mehallow, Christopher Stone, Natalie Verduin, and Margaret Yang. Another eight students qualified for the Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of three or higher on four more of these exams. These students are: Michale Amory, Jamie Baik, Robert Carroll, Suzanne Crifo, Rachel Fleiss, Julie Irwin, Madeline Ricchiuto, and Erin Ward. The remaining 25 students qualified for the Advanced Placement Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of three or higher. The AP Scholars are: Scott Berman, Danielle Brazel, Christine Carosotto, Terrance Dolan, Allyson Dwyer, Waleed Farag-Hebela, Olivia Gardlin, Sarah Goldstein, Jessica Kane, David Kay, Joshua Lee, Keun Lee, Elizabeth Lesso, Matthew Luczyk, Daniel Mc Govern, Matthew Mehallow, John O’ Neil, Roshni Patel, Dean Pologe, Alexander Profaei, Zachary Ranieri, Gabrielle Robbins, Kyle Sabin, Mary Van Langen, and Meaghan Wostbrock. The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both, for successful performance on the AP exams. Only a small percent of the more than 1.7 million students worldwide who took Advanced Placement exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on the AP exams.
