The dinner will kick off the re-election campaign of Anita Bozzo and Chuck Farricker. The cost is $40 per person. Girl Scout registration planned The Waldwick Girl Scouts invite all girls entering kindergarten to be part of the Scouting experience. Girl Scouts discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Parental support is also needed. Opportunities are available for those interested in working with girls as troop leaders and assistant leaders. Registration for Daisy Girl Scouts will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Waldwick Ambulance Corps Building, 20 Whites Lane in Waldwick. Register for Junior Warrior Hoops The Junior Warrior Hoops program will hold registration for the 2009-10 basketball season on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Thursday, Sept. 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Waldwick High School gym. The program is open to girls and boys in grades four through eight. The Intramural League stresses the development of player fundamental skills along with competitive games. The traveling teams compete in the New Jersey Junior Basketball League for Boys and the NWBP Girls Basketball League. Traveling teams are comprised of girls and boys in grades five through eight. Crescent School hosts clothing collection Crescent Elementary School in Waldwick will be holding a used clothing collection on Saturday, Sept. 26. All wearable clothing, shoes, belts, purses, linens, stuffed animals, toys, and baby items including car seats and strollers are being collected. Donations must be bagged by category and may be dropped off at Crescent Elementary School, 165 Crescent Avenue in Waldwick between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the students of Crescent Elementary School. For further information or questions e-mail Winberry exhibits at library The paintings of Alice Winberry will be displayed at the Waldwick Public Library through Saturday, Oct. 31. Entitled “Varieties of Watermedia,” the exhibit demonstrates the many ways of approaching a subject through the use of different processes and materials. From minimalist painting and abstract expressionism to the endearing realism of pet portraits and Beatrix Potter’s form of illustration, Winberry’s paintings demonstrate her expertise with acrylics, watercolor, gouache, pen and ink, graphite, gold leaf, and crystals. A resident of Oakland, Winberry is an accomplished professional artist experienced in a variety of media and styles. Her large body of work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions and has received many awards in juried shows. Winberry has studied art at the Ridgewood Art Institute, William Paterson University, the School of Visual Arts, The Art School at Old Church, Bergen Community College, Jersey City State College, and with many other professional artists. She has conducted art workshops for students of all ages and offers her services for commissioned fine art, commercial illustration, and family and pet portraits. The library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Auxiliary plans meeting Due to a scheduling conflict, the Waldwick Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary will hold its first meeting of the season one week earlier than usual. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Waldwick Methodist Church on Franklin Turnpike. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome. Rizzotti exhibits oils at Stable Gallery The September exhibit at the Stable Art Gallery will feature the oil paintings of Waldwick resident Bob Rizzotti. Rizzotti has exhibited in many New Jersey and New York venues and has donated art to the Borough of Waldwick, and an oil of the World Trade Center to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
