Page 12 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • September 16, 2009 Glen Rock Roundup Covered Dish Luncheon planned The Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Glen Rock Branch, is kicking off its new season with a Covered Dish Luncheon on Monday, Sept. 28 at 12:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held in the Municipal Annex on Maple Avenue. Meetings are scheduled for the fourth Monday of the month at the Glen Rock Annex. Visitors are welcome. Members are asked to invite any prospective new members as guests to the Sept. 28 luncheon. The new 2009-10 Mem- bership Directory has been distributed. In addition to contributing a favorite dish for the luncheon, each member is asked to bring an item for the hospital’s Robin Hood Corner at Kurth Cottage. Contributions do not have to be new, but should be saleable. Adams novel to be discussed The Tea and Talk at Two book group will meet Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. to discuss “The Sister” by Poppy Adams. Enjoy tea, (iced or hot, depending on the weather), cookies, and conversation at this informal group that meets to discuss books on the third Tuesday of each month. “The Sister” is a psychodrama that spans the unsettling week during which estranged siblings reunite in a crumbling English country mansion. Debut novelist Adams sets an appropriately sinister tone, and teases the reader’s comprehension and sympathies, especially for the narrator. On the remaining Tuesdays of each month, enjoy Tea and Talk at Two. The refreshments will be the same, but the conversation will be up to the participants. Glen Rock resident Helen Kennelly is the host and always provides interesting topics to discuss. For more information, call the library, (201) 670-3970.
