Julia M. Amalfitano, nee Gabriel, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Glen Rock, died Oct. 19. She was 75. She is survived by her husband Frank Amalfitano, her children Karen Garofano, Lori Foschino, and Dina Amalfitano, six grandchildren and her sister Ann D’Amato. Arrangements were made by Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. Constance “Connie” Mary Ardizone, nee Sgambati, of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Glen Rock, died Oct. 17. She was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. She was the founder and president of HOPE (Help Our Pets Exist) for 35 years. She is survived by her husband Robert C. Ardizone of Franklin Lakes, and her siblings, Helen Midilli of Hackensack, Frank Sgambati of Woodridge, and Fred Sgambati of Hackensack. Janet Bergmann, nee Macfarlan, of Falmouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Glen Rock and Ho-Ho-Kus, died Oct. 17. She was 92. She served on the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education, was a member of Saint Bartholomew’s Church, and was active in the local hospital auxiliary, College Club, and visiting nurse service. She is survived by her children Charles H. Bergmann Jr. of Falmouth, Massachusetts, John R. Bergmann of Tahoe Vista, California, Nancy J. Killough of Dallas, Texas, and Janet A. Birch of Putney, Vermont, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charles H. Bergmann, her parents, and three siblings. Arthur Brierley of Ridgewood died Oct. 20. He was 54. He was self-employed. He was a member of Donate to Life, The Glen School Reunion Committee, and Somerville School’s Dad’s Nite. He is survived by his daughters Lauren of Indiana and Erica of Vernon, his brother Robert of Ridgewood, and his Aunt Virginia of Midland Park. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh in Ridgewood. She had been a reporter for the Bergen Evening News, a columnist and editor at the Newark Evening News, a teacher at Ridgewood Elementary and George Washington Middle schools, and a real estate agent with Schlott

Realtors. She served on the Ridgewood Board of Education and was an honorary lifetime member of the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. She served as chairman of the founding committee and president of the board of trustees of Family Counseling Service of Ridgewood. She is survived by her grandchildren Daniel and Michael Brown and Kristen and Nicole Caldwell. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Caldwell and her four children Catherine, Stephen, Robert, and Daniel. A funeral service will be held on Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Michael Capaccio of Ridgewood, formerly of Cherry Hill, died Oct. 16. He was 85. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Prior to retiring he was a manufacturing engineer with Action Manufacturing Co. of Philadelphia. He is survived by his daughters, Denise Helfer, and Michele Baron, and five grandchildren. Louis J. Craca, of Montgomery Village, Maryland, formerly of Ridgewood died Oct. 17. He was 72. She taught kindergarten before serving as a substitute teacher in the Waldwick school system for over 30 years. After retiring, she was active in IGLOO, the Intergenerational Literacy Opportunity Organization. She was a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Allendale. She sang in the choir for 35 years and was an elder. She recently joined a chimes choir. She was active in Girl Scouts since 1956 and a recent member of the Bergen Council’s Chapter of the Evergreen program. She is survived by her husband Earl Scott Lemmon, her daughters Linda Durham of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Gail Lloyd of Newark, Delaware, Roberta Phelps of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Janet McGovern of Brookfield, Connecticut, 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister, Louise Barr of Ithaca, New York. Jo Ann Gunter Lyon of Ridgewood died Oct. 21. She was 73. She is survived by her husband Samuel M. two grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and 11 stepgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents William and Leora Watkins and her brother William Watkins. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Thomas F. Pimlott Jr. of Glen Rock, formerly of Hawthorne, died Oct. 22. He was 82. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a self-employed auto mechanic at Point Service in Paterson. He is survived by his son Thomas F. Pimlott III of Glen Rock, four grandchildren, and his sisters Molly Kilhaney of Hawthorne and Joan Berney of Oswego, New York. He was predeceased by his wife Marie Pimlott (nee Glenney), and his daughter Susan Pimlott. Arrangements were made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Before retiring in 1987, he was a supervisor of Tool Design, for General Electric Corp. in Paterson. He was a member of the Wyckoff Seniors. He is survived by his wife Mildred Schuster (nee Berglund) of Wyckoff, his daughter Barbara Gibbs of West Lafayette, Indiana, and his brother David A. Schuster of Fort Pierce, Florida.
