She was a member of St. Luke’s Church in Ho-Ho-Kus and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, the bowling league and the Rosary Hill Sewing Committee. She is survived by her children, Jane Anne Corcoran of Silver Spring, Maryland, Carol Lee Crowley of Ho-Ho-Kus, Kathleen Campbell of Waldwick, Michael Corlis of Frametown, West Virginia, and Timothy Corlis of Rocky Hill, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Kraft Center, Third Floor, 15 Essex Road, Paramus, NJ 07652. Jane Decker of Midland Park died Sept. 25. She was 93. Before retiring in 1986, she was a telephone operator at Center Lumber in Paterson. Prior to that, she was an embroidery machine operator for Wostbrock Mills in Midland Park. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Midland Park, a member of the choir, Ruth Circle, and the Senior Crusades. She was a former Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her nieces, Joan Dunkerley of Midland Park, and Nancy Van Beveren of North Haledon, four great nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Helen Julia Dombrowski, nee Micik, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly Mahwah, died Sept. 26. She was 92. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Mahwah. She is survived by her children Mary Ann Zorio of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bernadette Manghi of Mahwah, four grandchildren and her sister Nancy Antonick of Mahwah. Viola Edler of Wyckoff died Sept. 26. She was 95. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her children Gerald, Lawrence, and Judith Rabinowitz, nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and her sister Stephanie. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence. Dorothy E. Corlis Helen Beatrice Harris of Ridgewood died Sept. 25. Before retiring, she worked for Curtis Wright Aeronautics. Afterward, she was a home health aide at the Ridgewood Nursing Home. She was a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church, where she was president of the usher board. She is survived by her children Paulette Perry, William, Todd and Jody, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her sister Mary Lee Coleman of Warrenton, North Carolina. Arrangements were made by Nesbitt Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Michael Robert LaTorre of Waldwick died Sept. 28. He was 79. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s RC Church in Ho-HoKus, a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was past president of the Waldwick Lions Club, where he was the Lions Volunteer of the Year in New Jersey in 2003. He was a volunteer at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River. He is survived by his children, Diana and Jennifer LaTorre, Janice Cabral, and Michael LaTorre, eight grandchildren and his brothers Carlo and Richard LaTorre. He was predeceased by his wife Beatrice Rose. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Sydell S. Mittler of Franklin Lakes and Nantucket, Massachusetts, died Sept. 29. She was 76. She was owner of Sydell Mittler Interiors, ASID. She is survived by her husband Melvin, her children Wendy Matano, Michelle Hydrusko, Phyllis Cornman and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus. Nicholas E. Newman of Ridgewood died Sept. 30. He was 68. Before retiring in 1990, he was director of securities for American Express Co. of New York City. After retiring he worked for B.B.Z. Car Service and Ridgewood Taxi. He is survived by his wife Frances Newman (nee Riese) of Ridgewood, his sons, Nicholas C. of Ohio and Steven T. Newman of Connecticut, five grandchildren and his brothers, John J. of Virginia and Patrick M. Newman of Michigan. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. He was a U.S. Army Medical Corps veteran of WWII. He was clinical director of the Oral Health Research Department of Pharmacology at Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry. He had also been director of clinics at New York University College of Dentistry, and chief of research and development at Lever Bros. Co. in Edgewater. He was a volunteer for Clowns on Call. He was a member of the Helen Beatrice Harris American Dental Association and the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood. He is survived by his children Kathryn Lonati of Franklin Lakes, and Lori Spinella of Corona, California, three grandchildren and one step grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria Picozzi. Arrangements were made by Louis Suburban Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood.
