Glen Rock November 25, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 9 Academy students lend a hand in the Big Sweep For the third year in a row, the students of Academy of Our Lady assisted in the Borough of Glen Rock’s Big Sweep. The program is designed to help senior citizens with the raking of leaves on their property. Two of the school’s teachers, Steve Roberts and Tara Labrosse and their fifth grade students arrived at a home on Rock Road after school. Within an hour, the team had raked, bagged, and piled a season’s worth of fallen leaves. Parent volunteers provided the children with hot cocoa and sweet treats upon the completion of this activity. Academy of Our Lady is a preK through eighth grade Catholic school co-sponsored by Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ridgewood and Saint Catharine’s in Glen Rock.
