Emmanuel asks...
Can You Help?
Important announcement: Please help Emmanuel Cancer Foundation with a click of a mouse. Visit http:// www.justmeans.com/contestidea?ideaid=MTQ5 As many of you know, we at Emmanuel Cancer Foundation are fighting hard to keep our program intact in the midst of a suffering economy. The good news is that we have been nominated to receive a grant via Liquidnet’s $150,000 Local Impact Challenge, and we have a very, very good chance to receive funding. Please copy and paste the link above into your web browser, and vote for the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. Please pass this information on to everyone you know who might be willing to help us. All it takes is a few clicks. Thank you! Our hat’s off to: Midland Park High School for the recent “World-Cereal-eze” cereal collection. The students collected karen/janine 4-29-09 about 200 boxes of cereal. The holidays are coming, and the children of Emmanuel EmmanuelHelp2x.75(4-29-09) Cancer Foundation have given us their wish lists. If you 3 x .75 to “adopt” a child this December holiday season, would like please call us at (201) 612-8118. Please consider donating a Thanksgiving dinner. We would appreciate donations of the non-perishable fixin’s for a Thanksgiving dinner for one of our families. You can also save time and purchase a gift card to any chain grocery store and donate this to one of our families. Call now for more information. This year, we are asking community organizations such as schools, churches, temples, and places of work to consider becoming involved with us at a greater level. Whether you help us currently, or never have helped us in any way, we invite everyone to get involved at this critical time. Many non-profit organizations such as ours have experienced a significant drop in financial and material contributions. Involvement can take many forms, but doesn’t have to take a lot of time. For example, businesses can host a fundraiser such as a “Dress Down Day, when employees make a donation to wear casual clothes,” host a Golf Outing, or contribute a certain percentage of profits for one day. Schools can collect non-perishable food items, or raise funds for ECF by hosting a “Pajama Day” or “Hat Day,” when everyone pays $5 for the privilege of wearing PJs or a hat to school. Schools can also fundraise by hosting a basketball game or a dance and charging admission. Churches and temples may call us for a variety of suggestions, including making a financial contribution, collecting non-perishable food, assembling birthday bags, or purchasing gift cards. We currently need volunteers in our office during the following times: Monday, 1 to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 2:30 to 5 p.m.; and Friday 1 to 5 p.m. Call us at (201) 612-8118 before you stop by. Please do not leave items at the center without checking with us first. Our storage space is limited. Hours are Monday, 10 to 1; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 to 5; and Thursday, 10 to 2. The Northern Regional Center is located at 174 Paterson Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432. Visit us on the web at www.emmanuelcancer.org. As always, thank you for helping the children and their families!
