Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • November 4, 2009 Ridgewood Students’ fashions to be featured at local show The Fashion Design Workshop and Sweet Feet Boutique are sponsoring a Gala Holiday Fashion Show on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7:15 p.m. at Sweet Feet Boutique, 41 East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood. The event is open to the public and is free of charge. Local students, ages 10 to 17, will be modeling their own creations designed and sewn at the Fashion Design Workshop in Hawthorne. All dresses were designed and made by the students during recent one-week intensive workshops and after -school programs. There will be a fun filled shopping party in the store following the show until 9 p.m.. Sweet Feet will be offering a 15 percent discount on all purchases made that night. Light refreshments will be served. The Fashion Design Workshop offers year-round classes in all facets of fashion design, including illustration, sewing, design concepts, and draping. Various classes are offered for students age nine to adult. Special Girl Scout programs are offered throughout the school year, and birthday parties are available. Register for adult art instruction The Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Department will offer art instruction classes for adults at the Stable, 259 North Maple Avenue. Participants will receive individual attention and will be provided with goals and objectives to help them find their own personal approach to painting. Acrylics will be offered with Sandi Chanoch on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., beginning Nov. 10. The cost of the program is $54 for six classes. A Thursday class will also be offered from 7 to 9 p.m., beginning Nov. 12. Cost is $45 for five classes. Materials are additional and a list will be provided at registration.
