He was a sales engineer for over 25 years with Johnson Controls. He was the treasurer and secretary of Eastern Trade Golf Association. He is survived by his wife Elsie (nee Blessing) of Ridgewood, his children Mark Becker of Ridgewood and Alice Howe of Glen Rock, two grandchildren, and his siblings Margaret Klein and Ludwig Goebelbecker. Nicholas Bischoff of Glen Rock died May 12. He was 17. He is survived by his parents Susan (nee Rottner) and Robert Bischoff, his brother Matthew Bischoff, and his grandparents Inge Rottner and Monika and Wolfgang Bischoff. Cooper, nee Finnell, of Ridgewood, formerly of California, Sydney, Australia and Washington, DC, died May 11. She was 60. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a case worker and later a chairperson for Bergen County CASA. She is survived by her husband, Alan B. Cooper, her children A. Blake Cooper, C. Nicole Cooper, Brian Patrick Cooper and Cathryn E. Cooper, one grandson, and her mother Eve Ferrera. Barbara Councilor, nee Black, of Buck Hill Falls, Pennsylvania, formerly of Wyckoff, died May 11. She was 76. She is survived by her husband Theodore G. Councilor, her children Robb, David, Missy and Gates, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her sister Virginia Stoehr. Before retiring in 2000, he worked for the New York Stock Emil Becker Exchange. He was a Eucharistic minister, church usher, and past president of Holy Name Society. He had been a member of bowling league, Knights of Columbus and the Brooklyn Rescue Squad. He was a member of Activities Unlimited and Duffers Golf Group. He is survived by his wife Helen Driscoll (nee Gmuer), his children William, Kathleen, Sharon, and Debra Driscoll, 11 grandchildren, and his sister Margaret Brusca. Ernest of Glen Rock died May 10. He was 88. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring he was a special services employee for NJ Bell in Hackensack. He was a past master of the Hamilton Wallis Masonic Lodge #227. He is survived by his nephew Charles H. Ernest of Ellicott, Maryland, and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (nee Judge) Ernest, and his brother Charles R. Ernest. Arrangements were made by Browning-Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Jean Betty Graney, nee Pohle, of Wyckoff died May 5. She was 86. She had worked for American Locomotive Company during WWII. She is survived by her children Kathleen Nelson of Wyckoff, Mary McAndrew of New Haven, Connecticut, John of Vero Beach, Florida, Patricia Cifrese of Boonton, and Thomas of Astoria, New York, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her sister Grace Shank. Fred Miley Knipp of Warwick, New York died May 7. He was 78. He was a retired colonel with the U.S. Army, where he served for 27 years. He was a president of the Warwick Telephone Company. He was a member of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, a board member Donald R. Ernest with the Warwick Savings Bank, and an active member of Saint Stephen’s RC Church in Warwick, New York. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Knipp of Warwick; his children Kristine Perilla of Fulshear, Texas, Gretchen Proctor of Vernon, Michael Knipp of Lufkin, Texas, Joseph Knipp of Suffern, New York, and Paul Knipp of Ramsey; six grandchildren; and his siblings James Knipp of Williamsburg, Virginia and Marian Green of Austin, Texas. He was a member of the American Legion Post #531 in Mahwah, and an honorary member of the Hillburn Fire Department. He is survived by his children Michael J. Strysko of Swan Lake, New York, Mark Strysko and Barbara Panos of Smallwood, New York, three grandchildren, his companion Peggy Coddington, and his siblings Stanley Strysko, Mary Strysko and Edna Cannizzaro. Ralph Kenneth Ten Eyck of Waldwick died May 5. He was 62. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated the Ten Eyck Service Station in Waldwick and Midland Tire in Midland Park. He had been a sergeant with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Unit Association Motorcycle Unit. He was a member of the Midland Park VFW. He is survived by his daughter Amy Mathieu, his granddaughter Cassandra, his parents Ralph and Doris Ten Eyck, his brothers Paul and Alex, and his ﬁancée Anita Napolitano.
