He practiced internal medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He was assistant clinical professor of medicine at Downstate Medical School, Medical Director R.I. Group Health in Providence, Rhode Island, Medical Director I.T.T. Corporation in Nutley. He was a member of the A.M.A, A.C.P., American Society of Occupational Medicine and the New Jersey Medical Society. He is survived by his wife Audrey (nee Hennessy); his children Patricia Postle, Pamela Smith, Cathy Decosse, Michael Giarratano, Steven Giarratano, DDS, and Annamarie Della Pietra; and 19 grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Marrocco Memorial Chapel. Barbara “Bobbi” Kowadlo of Wyckoff, formerly of River Edge and Passaic, died March 18. Before retiring, she had been the office manager at Harlind Financial Group in Montvale for over 20 years. She had also been a preschool teacher at Paramus Co-Op Nursery School and the Ridgewood Nursery School. She is survived by her children Jan K. Weisen of Wyckoff, Jeri B. Salvatore J. Giarratano, MD Fletcher of River Edge, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Jacob Kowadlo. Arrangements were made by Louis Surburban Chapel in Fair Lawn. Bruce Petersen of Ramsey, formerly of Ridgewood, died March 12. He was a certified respiratory therapist for Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus. He was a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Conover) and his son Kevin. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Aletti. Arrangements were made by Kohler Funeral Home in Wood-Ridge. Gandolph J. Rubé of Ridgewood died March 13. He was 93. He was Realtor and owner of Ridgewood Town & Country Real Estate in Ridgewood. He is survived by his nieces, Ruth Bennett of Berkley Heights, Lucia Spoto of Jamestown, New York, and Judith Hall of Sarasota, Florida, his nephew Dr. Joseph A. Rubé of Rochester, and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Lucia and his brother Dr Joseph Rube. Arrangements were made by C.C. She served on the Midland Park Bruce Petersen Board of Education from 1993 to 2008, serving as both president and vice-president during her tenure. She was an active member of Grace Church in Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Terri Morse of Midland Park, Susan Vandervliet of Gulfport, Florida, Robert Vandervliet of Houston, Texas, and David Vandervliet of the Bronx, New York, two grandchildren, and her brother John Traino of Hawthorne. Before retiring in 1986, he was a plant manager with Beecham Products, Inc. of Clifton for 26 years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy “Dede,” nee Wallace, his children Marc, Thomas, Peter, Daniel and Stefanie Weisbrot, seven grandchildren, and his sisters, Lucy Volk and Mary Ann Palmer. Before retiring in 1983, he was vice president of marketing for AMF, Bowling Division. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Wyckoff. He was a 62-year member of the West Point Masonic Lodge, F&AM. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Mandelbaum of Glen Rock, three grandchildren and his brother John Woodruff of Scarbourough, Maine. Stein was a German Jewish philosopher and a convert to Christianity. She was later a Carmelite nun who died in Auschwitz in 1942. She was canonized in 1998 as Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross.
