He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes and a member of the North Jersey Whiz Skiers. He is survived by his wife Diva (nee Martini), daughters Lisa Munoz, Caroline Cooley, Judy Cobourn, Pamela Swartzberg, and Valerie Torkelson, and 16 grandchildren. She was a founding member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, president of the New Jersey Diabetes Association in 1985, a member of the Expert Panel on Endocrinology of the U.S. Pharmacopoeial Convention, served on the New Jersey Diabetes Commission, a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and a member of national and state committees of the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and a trustee of the Diabetes Research and Education Foundation. She was a member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahwah and Saint Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ramsey.
