Peck prepared a brochure about the Nancy Atkins Peck offers Kemm Loven program prolific architect, who was the creator of more than 500 designs, mostly in Bergen County, between the 1930s and his sudden death at age 58 in 1965. Loven, who studied in Europe, included European details such as dovecotes, turrets, leaded glass windows, half-timbering, embossed copper gutters, gargoyles, balconies, courtyards, terra cotta roof tiles and hand-forged hardware in the homes he designed. Such details lend the homes a magical quality that identify them as his. Ridgewood budget adopted (continued from page 5) was rejected. Several department heads also expanded their positions to cover added responsibilities, reducing the need to fire new personnel, and the police and paid fire department agreed to substantial cuts in replacement equipment. Ten Hoeve later announced that he would be pursuing a consulting career with a work-from-home option. The retiring manager was not the only one to advice caution, though only two residents, Boyd Loving and Roger Wiegand, spoke at the special public meeting on the budget. “I think we have to be really careful about debt,” said Wiegand. “We don’t want to take on too much debt. We want to be careful about big projects.” By questioning Ridgewood Water Company Director Frank Moritz, Loving established that the decline in revenues from recycling was due to a lack of demand for recyclable materials, but that the program was still self-supporting and far less expensive that paying to have the materials hauled away by contractors. They are a Blacktop Company that has gone GREEN! McFarlane Driveway Restoration fills potholes with hot asphalt – not cold fill that rapidly decays. The hot asphalt is then melted along the edges, forming a direct seal with the driveway. Best yet – your driveway will be ready for traffic within 24 hours. It seems Rich was destined to get into the family business. His parents drove him home from the hospital – his very first ride -- in a paving truck, a safe choice for the newborn given the blizzard conditions that day. As he grew up, Rich heard potential customers asking if the company repaired potholes, which it did not at the time. Rich decided this area would be a great niche for him, and his success in this specialty area followed. Ask Rich and his team how they can help you extend the life of your current driveway. His company also applies seal coat to help protect driveways against deterioration. Rich recommends resealing the driveway at least every two years to replenish asphalt, which can become aged and weathered. Restore yours today! They have kept their 2008 prices and are honoring 2008 estimates too. No job is too small. McFarlane Driveway Restoration is a member of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce.
