Kay Yeomans serves as Chairman of the Scholarship Award Committee. This scholarship program was established to provide financial assistance to qualified applicants. Specifically, the program is for students who intend to pursue a nursing program in an educational institution accredited by the National League for Nursing or other qualified accrediting agencies leading to licensure or a degree in nursing. This year’s 14 new recipients are listed here with their hometowns and academic institutions they plan to attend. Yeomans also announced the renewal of the Stringer/Featherstone Nursing Scholarships for 16 of last year’s awardees. To be eligible for a Stringer/Featherstone Nursing Scholarship, an applicant must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, receive a recommendation from the guidance counselor or dean/chair of the college nursing program, indicate self-help and financial need, and must reside in the area served by Valley Health System and its affiliates. Donations to the Stringer/Featherstone Scholarship Fund are welcome.
