He was a financial printer with Bowne and Co., New York City, New York. Previously, he was advertising director for Korvetts Department Stores. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Catherine, nee Stackpoole, his children Victoria Schier of Ridgewood, four grandchildren, and his sisters Frances Vukek, Lillian Bevilacqua, Dorothy Annand. He was predeceased by his son Mark Joseph Annand and his brother Edmond Annand. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. He was owner and president of Benjamin C. Johnson, Inc. in Ho-Ho-Kus. He coached Torpedoes soccer and Wyckoff travel baseball teams. He was a long-time member of the Thrillseekers softball team. He is survived by his wife Patricia, nee Clark, his children Sean, Emily, and Carolyn, his mother Carolyn, nee Fox, of Naples, Florida, and siblings Colleen Swierkocki of Wayne and Kevin Edwards of Ramsey. Before retiring in 2007, she was the owner of Fierro Maintenance for 28 years. She is survived by her brothers Louis, Doni, Frank, Michael Fierrro all of New York State. He was 85. He was a U.S Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was vice president of fleet leasing and special financing for General Motors Acceptance Corp. He is survived by his children, Edythe Jane Derman of Chews Landing and Maerose Reilly of Old Tappan, three grandchildren, sister Mary Lou Wessinger of South Carolina, niece Suzanne Ludlum of Virginia, and friend Shirley Makibbim of Virginia. He was predeceased by his wife Maryjane Fraser. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Joan K. Ostling, nee Kerns, of Ridgewood died Jan. 11. She was 69. She was a reporter for the newspaper chain that covers Chicago’s western suburbs, a writer-editor with the U.S. Information Agency in Washington DC, and taught English and journalism at The King’s College and at Nyack College. She and her husband are the coauthors of “Mormon America” (1999, revised 2007). She also co-authored the scholarly annotated bibliography on books by and about C.S. Lewis. She was the clerk of council, a lay elder, and longtime worship committee chair at the Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, president of Friends of Music, and a Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra board member. She is survived by her husband Richard Ostling, her children Margaret Chang of Lake Forest, California, and Elizabeth Ostling of Boston, Massachusetts, five grandchildren, sister Judith Hunter of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and brother J. Tucci (nee Meyer) of Midland Park, his children Anita Napolitano of Waldwick, Margaret Lambrinides of Waldwick, Susanne Hyman of Ramsey, Gregory Tucci of Ocala, Florida, Andrew Tucci of Midland Park and Frederick Tucci of Parsippany; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Valley Hospital and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 130 where she was a Gold Star Mother. She is survived by her children Bonnie Wedlake of Ramsey, Bill Wedlake of Spokane, Washington, two grandchildren, and her brother James Chapman of Wyckoff.
