Unique Boutique opens
Daniela Musano of Sweet Feet Ltd. and Lynn Martinez of Indulge a Unique Boutique recently merged concepts and launched Boutique Unique. These two entrepreneurs have closed their former locations and opened their new venture at 211 East Ridgewood Avenue, between Gilsenan Realty and Daniards Salon, which they believe is in the part of town with the most action. Sweet Feet Ltd. has been in business for 25 years and Indulge has been in town for just under five years. “Our creativity can truly soar with this new location,” Daniela Musano said. “It will serve our customers better and offer more under one roof.” Martinez, who is known for her great eye for buying, carries Cosabella, Chamilia, Troll Beads, and unique gifts. Sweet Feet Ltd. will still be carrying Betsey Johnson, Free People, Cheap Monday Jeans, and will always be bringing in new items. The shoe department still offers those great names, like Minnetonka Moccasin, Keds, Reefs, Blowfish, Rocket Dog, and many more. With a flurry of activity, the women were able to pull the new store together in three and a half weeks. “We wanted to be available to our customers for holiday shopping,” explained Martinez. During the month of December, Boutique Unique will offer extended holiday hours and will be open every Tuesday in December until 8 p.m. Stop by and enjoy refreshments to celebrate this exciting new addition to Ridgewood.

Reiter always had dreams of some day becoming a veterinarian and pursued the required pre-med courses in his first two years at Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck. His father died at an early age, so Reiter had to work part-time at night to help defray some of the expenses while attended school full-time. It soon became clear that balancing that academic and work schedule simply would not work. He changed his major to marketing and led a successful business career for over 30 years with Automatic Data Processing. Seven years ago, he decided to retire early. He participates in local fine art shows and has won many awards. His photographs are included in numerous private collections. Reiter plans future trips to Costa Rica, British Columbia, and return visits to Kenya and Rwanda.
Our hat’s off to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey and to the Wyckoff Senior Citizens for their recent food donations. Speaking of help: We need a driver to deliver food once a month to a family in Chester. So far, the usual excitement and attention the community devotes to contributing holiday dinners and gifts for the kids has been on the low side. I am hoping that this picks up, because it has never been an issue. The children of Emmanuel Cancer have given us their wish list for a holiday gift. Figure out what it would cost to buy all the groceries (including the turkey or ham) for a family of six. Reiter’s love of nature and wildlife began at an early age. While he was attending Willard Elementary School in Ridgewood, he would come home to care for his miniature zoo in his family’s house. He raised hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, guppies, and other animals, and sold them to the local pet shop. To his mother’s dismay, he once owned an “alligator” (caiman).
