Area August 19, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 7 A 46-year-old Glen Rock man was charged three times in one week for a number of offenses in Ridgewood. On Aug. 4, at 9:12 p.m., Ridgewood Detective Sergeant William Hemmer and Detective Douglas Henky arrested the Glen Rock man at Van Neste Square for a Ridgewood complaint of assault that dated from July and outstanding warrants from Dumont and Emerson. He was transported to Ridgewood Police Headquarters, processed, and released pending court dates in all three municipal locations. Three days later, at 7 p.m., Patrolman Peter Tuchol observed a person drinking alcohol outside the Van Neste Glen Rock man charged multiple times in village Square bus terminal. He identified the same man who had been arrested three days before and issued a summons for consumption of alcohol in a public place. The defendant was released pending a court appearance in August. Another three days passed and Detective Sergeant Hemmer was investigating a car window that had been broken the night before in the parking lot of Mount Carmel Church. A warrant was issued for the same man. Ridgewood Patrolman Joseph Youngberg located the Glen Rock resident in Van Neste Park and charged him with criminal burglary on a motor vehicle and criminal mischief. He was released after posting $5,000 in bail. In other business, the Ridgewood Police Department is investigating a Crest Road resident’s complaint that someone threw eggs at his house and tampered with the lock on his car and damaged it. Police are investigating. A 39-year-old Ridgewood man has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and several automotive charges after Ridgewood police stopped him on outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction. The Ridgewood resident was pulled over on Aug. 3 at 1:40 p.m. due to warrants from Ho-Ho-Kus. Ridgewood Patrolman Anthony Mormino reportedly observed bags of marijuana on the back seat of the man’s car and charged him with possession of the controlled dangerous substance, driving with a suspended license, and operating an unregistered vehicle. The man was remanded to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail to Ridgewood and $1,500 to HoHo-Kus for the original warrant. Movies under the Stars set The Glen Rock Recreation Department welcomes borough residents to Movies under the Stars. This event will be held at Wilde Memorial Park on Maple Avenue. Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chairs. On Aug. 21watch Duane “The Rock” Johnson try to stop an alien invasion with the help of two kids with paranormal powers. This Disney remake will be nostalgic for adults, and exciting for children. Rain date will be on Aug. 24. On Aug. 28 see a film that celebrates teamwork. This feature about the southern football team that tries to win the Virginia High School Championship in 1971 is great film for people of all ages. The rain date will be Aug. 31.
