Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • April 29, 2009 Ridgewood Ridgewood’s Orchard School recently sponsored the 2009 North Jersey Stackapalooza, a contest to see how fast and high students could stack pyramids of cups. The event, which featured individual, partner, and team stacking, involved more than 50 students from Ridgewood and other towns. Orchard Physical Education Teacher Jim Ross coordinated the event. Winners of the individual event included Jared Powers in first place and Aidan Pizzo in second place for the age seven and under category, Alex Blumenfeld in second place, Ailish Bennett in two first places and a third place in the age eight category, and Niklas Gambardella in a third place and Charlotte Simpson in the third place cycle, Alexa Powers in a first place and two second places, Henry Pizzo in two third places, and Davis Weil in a first place in the nine and under event, Sofia Gambardella in two first places and a second place, Angela Pizzo in a first place and two Orchard School sponsors Stackapalooza contest second places and Tatiana Mehos in three third places in the 11 and under event. In the partner events, David Weil placed third in the doubles cycle 10 and under, and Youngjoo Lee and Tatianoa Mehos took first place in the 12 and under doubles event and Sofia Gambaredella and Vera Mudry took second place in the doubles cycle. In team events, The Masters, Alex Blumenfeld, Charlotte Simpson, Ailish Bennett, and Bradley Tauscher from Willard School, placed second in the eight and under event, and Team Eagle, Sam Burgoyne, Emily Ertle, Jared Powers, and Niklas Gambardella, took third place in the relays. The Stacking Hippuppies, Vera Mudry, Youngjoo Lee, Tatiana Mhos, and Ryan Degnan, took first place in the 12 and under team relay, and The Orchard Ospreys 2, Alexa Powers, Angelina Pizzo, Sofia Gambardella, and Megan Summers, took third place in the team relay.
