Ridgewood honored
At a recent AAA North Jersey Community Traffic Safety Luncheon, Ridgewood officials were presented with an AAA Award of Merit. The award is presented to communities for their outstanding traffic safety program activities. The Ridgewood Police Department routinely conducts aggressive driving, DWI and seat belt checkpoints on their roadways in addition to bicycle safety programs for school children. Pictured are Mayor David Pfund, Police Chief John Lipuma, Vice President of AAA North Jersey James Dobi and Officer Mark Butler.
On April 21, voters throughout New Jersey will select their representatives to the local school boards. Voters will also be asked to cast their ballots on the proposed school budgets. In Glen Rock, four candidates have filed for the three available three-year seats on the board. Douglas Falk opted not to seek reelection. Incumbents Gene Calderone, a college professor, and Barbara Stewart, an executive, will seek to retain their seats. Two newcomers, Anita Kalra and Dina Rosen, are also seeking election. The one-year seat on the board left vacant by the resignation of Virginia Lincoln will be contested by Robert Burslem and Sheldon Hirschberg, both of whom have run for
