Don Bosco Prep will host The RockNRoll Chorus, New Jersey’s teenage high-energy, rock and pop a cappella group on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Don Bosco Prep Chapel, Saint John’s Hall, 492 North Franklin Turnpike, Ramsey. After auditioning 200 students from all parts of New Jersey, 32 singers have come together for performances in stage shows throughout the metropolitan area during the school year and in the summer. The RockNRoll Chorus, with a powerhouse cast of some of the best high school singers from all over the state, performs music resembling the original recordings of some of the top hits of the past few decades. While in the group, the students also learn about the music business, recording, touring, performance skills and entertainment production all through the vehicle of rock and pop music they would not ordinarily be able to experience in their high school music programs. During the summer, the cast performs in New York, Charleston, Nashville, Charlotte, Washington D.C., Boston, The Hamptons, Orlando and many other U.S. cities, including several venues in New Jersey. Tickets are available online (http://www.donboscoprep.com) by clicking Arts and then the Chapel Concert Series on the upper side of the site or by calling (201) 327-8003, extension 188. Tickets are $20 each and are general admission. This venue is wheelchair accessible.
