There will be a Sunrise Communion service at 7:30 a.m., a Praise Worship service at 9 a.m. and the Easter Communion service at 11 a.m. Bethlehem Lutheran is hosting an Easter Saturday pancake Breakfast on April 11 at 9 a.m. The breakfast will be held in the gym and will also include an egg hunt, and a special Easter message for the children. Cost is $4 per person and $10 for families of three or more. Bethlehem Lutheran Church is located at 155 Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood Passover services scheduled The Glen Rock Jewish Center is holding services during the Passover holiday. On Thursday and Friday, April 9 and 10, the service will be at 7 a.m.; on Sunday, April 12, the service will take place at 9 a.m.; Monday through Wednesday, April 13 through 15 at 7 a.m. and on Wednesday, April 15 there will also be an 8 p.m. service with Yizkor; Thursday, April 16, the service will be at 7 a.m. with Yizkor. Ridgewood, will begin on April 9 with the Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. which will include communion and the Seven Last Words. This service will be held in the Peace Lounge. On Good Friday the sanctuary will be open from noon until 1 p.m. for all those wishing to come in and reflect and pray. On Easter Sunday, April 12, a sunrise service will be held at 7:30 a.m. followed by a breakfast which is hosted by the deacons. The breakfast will be held in Heritage Hall. At 10:30 a.m. there will be the Celebration of the Resurrection featuring special choir music with trumpet accompaniment by Tomo Jubo. At 11:30 a.m. will be coffee hour and an Easter Egg Hunt for children, which will be held outdoors, weather permitting. For more information contact the church office at (201) 444-7300. Holy Week services at Old Paramus Church Holy Week services at Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Church will be expanded, and Pastor Tom Marsden extends a warm welcome to the community to join in the solemnity and joy of these events. The Maundy Thursday service on April 9 at 7:30 p.m. will include a living tableau entitled “At the Last Supper” with hand washing and Holy Communion. There will be two services on Good Friday, April 10. At noon, come for meditations on “The Seven Last Words of Christ.” At 7:30 p.m., the church will host Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness, with a Chancel Choir Cantata. On April 12 at 10 a.m., the Easter Sunday service will be a celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, with a sermon by the pastor and special music featuring the choir, organ, and brass. Passover Seder scheduled The community is invited to celebrate the second night of Passover, April 9, at 6 p.m., at the Glen Rock Jewish Center. The Seder will be led by Rabbi Neil Tow. The menu for the evening will include gefilte fish, chopped liver, roast chicken, meatballs, side dishes, vegetables, dessert, fruit, and more. A vegetarian dinner is available upon request.
