He is scheduled to appear in municipal court. Following the investigation of a motor vehicle crash on Aug. 14 in which a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Steinhauser Lane, Wyckoff Patrolman Ryan Tenney charged at 24year-old Mahwah woman with assault by auto. The driver sustained a serious leg injury in the crash, and a 25-year-old female from Mahwah who was a passenger sustained a back injury. A blood sample was obtained from the driver while she was in the hospital following the crash. The injury to the passenger while the driver was allegedly driving while intoxicated led to the filing of the criminal complaint. The charge, a crime of the third degree, will be referred to the Bergen County Superior Court. On Sept. 23 at 9:11 p.m., Sergeant Ragucci stopped a vehicle on Franklin Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver, a 20-year-old Franklin Lakes man, for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle with unclear license plates. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in municipal court.
