Reinkraut to exhibit Long-time Franklin Lakes resident Ellen Reinkraut is exhibiting her work during the month of September at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. This artist is inspired by the mystical elements of life. Reinkraut received special recognition by the inclusion of her work in a traveling exhibit: “Women Artists: Past and Present,” along with artists Mary Cassatt, Judy Chicago, and Miriam Shapiro. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Entries sought for photo contest The Franklin Lakes Public Library is hosting its second annual “A Day in the Life of Franklin Lakes” photo contest. The contest is open to all Franklin Lakes residents and people who work in Franklin Lakes. Photos should capture what is loved and treasured in Franklin Lakes. Entries may be mailed or dropped off at the library or e-mailed with the entry form to: frlkphoto@gmail. com. Photos will be compiled into a photo book to be pub- lished in April 2010. Prizes will be awarded to the best in juniors, young adult, adult, and best “digitally modified” photos. Entry forms are available at the library. All entries must be received by Nov. 25. Help for busy mothers Alycia Kluegl of Empower Your Body will present “Make Time for You: The Busy Mom’s Guide to Finding Time to Exercise and Eat Healthy” at the Franklin Lakes Library on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. Kluegl will offer basic truths for living a more active healthy life. Fall Fun Day planned Fall Fun Day at The Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes is planned for Sunday, Sept. 13. The day begins with a worship service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Vern Dethmers preaching. Julie Sibbald, a professional storyteller, will give the children’s sermon, and Joan Buzick will lead a sing-a-long at the conclusion of worship. A barbecue will follow. Activities will include face painting by artist Mary Guidetti McColl, pumpkin painting, photos by Siegi Lehmann, caricatures, bocce, croquet, bubble machine, and a bounce ride. Foundation hosts 5K Run/Walk The Fourth Annual Angels of Hope 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Miller’s Pharmacy of Wyckoff and Nuzzi Chiropractic Family and Sports Center, is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 at the McBride Field in Franklin Lakes. Start time is 10 a.m. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the preregistration fee is $30. Registration forms are online at the Angel of Hope Foundation. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individual fundraisers and top three men and women overall, and to the top three male and female in each age group.
