Page 14 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • September 2, 2009 Wyckoff Wanderings Memorial service set The Wyckoff Fire Department will hold a memorial service on Friday, Sept. 11 at the 9/11 monument located at Fire Company #1 in Scott Plaza. The 6:30 p.m. service will be followed by a potluck supper in the firehouse. All are invited; bring a favorite covered dish to share. Economy Shop to reopen The Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop will reopen on Thursday, Sept. 17, and will accept walk-in clients from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 7:30 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, Sept. 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Economy Shop is a non-profit consignment shop staffed by volunteers from five Wyckoff School PTOs, Ramapo APTS, and Indian Hills PTSO. It sells gently used clothing and small household items to directly benefit the local schools. Located in the old railroad station at 399 West Main Street in Wyckoff. Phone (201) 891-5765. Regular hours for the Economy Shop are Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Evening hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the shop is open the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations of fall clothing are now being accepted. Fall story time registration to begin The Wyckoff Public Library is holding in-person registration for fall story times beginning Thursday, Sept. 10 in the Children’s Room. Rhyme Time for children ages 12 to 30 months and their caregivers will be held on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. on the following days: Sept. 14, 21, and 28, and Oct. 5 and 12. Toddler Tales for children ages 30 months to three years and their caregivers will be he held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18 and 25, and Oct. 2, 9, and 16. Storytime Fun for four’s and five’s is an independent story time for children to be held on Thursdays at either 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 24, Oct. 1, 8, and 15. Temple offers family service Children of all ages are invited to celebrate Shabbat with their families at Temple Beth Rishon’s monthly family service Friday Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. There will be a story by the rabbi and songs for Shabbat and the holidays followed by an Oneg Shabbat. Community Bible study offered Registration is now open for the 200910 North Jersey Evening Community Bible Study, which begins Sept. 15 and meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church in Wyckoff. The 30-week study of the Gospel of Luke is open to men and women from all backgrounds, with all levels of Bible knowledge. The course offers clear, concise commentary in handling historic record and in conveying the truth of the Gospel. The four-part CBS format, including a commentary, straightforward, but thought-provoking home study questions, men’s and women’s core group discussions of the home study questions, and a lecture by the teaching director weekly, offers an excellent opportunity for beginners to study the Bible. There is a $25 registration fee, and a $2 weekly donation is requested for lessons in spiral-bound books. Scholarships are available for those with financial need.
