The ceremony took place on the lawn of the Inn at the Round Barn Farm in Waitsfield, Vermont. A reception followed at the inn. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Ramapo High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Cook College at Rutgers University in 2004. She is employed by Canine Companions for Independence in Medford, NY, where she trains dogs for people in disabilities. The groom graduated from Ocean City High School in 2001. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Rutgers College in 2005 and his master’s degree in education from Rutgers University in 2006. He is a high school mathematics teacher at Sachem North High School in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. Suzanne Dryer was maid of honor, and Leslie Robinson, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Grant Kolmer served as best man and Michael Szpyt, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii. They reside in Sound Beach, New York. Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Lane of Wyckoff have announced the engagement of their daughter, Betsy, to Ben Tew, son of John and Sandra Tew of Kansas City, Missouri. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ramapo High School and Gettysburg College. She is a third grade teacher in Loudoun County, Virginia. Her fiancé is a graduate of Missouri Western State University. He is a senior project engineer for Performance Contracting, Inc. in Dulles, Virginia. The couple is planning an October 2010 wedding on Long Beach Island. Molly and James Higgins of Wyckoff have announced the birth of their daughter, Alaina Ann Higgins, on Aug. 27. Alaina joins brother Colin. Maternal grandparents are Warner and Elaine Canto of Wyckoff. Paternal grandparents are James and Mary Higgins of Bogota. Maternal great grandparents are Herman and Helen Suenholz of Glen Rock. He is a sales representative for Paychex Corp. The wedding ceremony was conducted at the Northside Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, Virginia. A reception followed at the historical Main Street Train Station in Richmond, Virginia. Attendants included Jennifer McGee, who stood as maid of honor; and Diane Miffleton, who was matron of honor. Ryan Davis was the best man; and Max Pitcher, brother of the groom, and Brad Howle, brother of the bride, served as ushers. Sarah Pitcher, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides Mechanicsville, Virginia.
