Holiday Boutique planned The Barnert Temple Sisterhood will present its annual Holiday Boutique on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The boutique, which is open to the public, will be held at the temple, 747 Route 208 South, Franklin Lakes. Admission is free. Over 50 vendors will present merchandise, including jewelry, stationery, toys, handbags, hostess gifts, personal- ized gifts, baby clothes and gifts, toys, and tie-dyed items. The Barnert Temple Youth Group will offer babysitting from noon to 3 p.m. and will be running the Grilled Cheese & Soup if You Please Café. Brunch and boutique shopping set The Franklin Lakes Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a “Pre-Holiday Brunch & Boutique Shopping Fundraiser Extravaganza” on Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Indian Trail Club, 830 Franklin Lake Road in Franklin Lakes. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and boutique shopping will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be more than 20 vendor booths selling clothing, jewelry and accessories, holiday ornaments, beauty items, baby items, home accessories, hand-painted doll furniture and clothing, American Girl size and many others. Tickets are $30 with proceeds going to Valley Hospital to support the 64-slice CT Scanner, expand the Inpatient Pediatric Unit, improve the Women’s Health Unit and provide program support for the Butterflies Pediatric Hospice Program of Valley Home Care. Holocaust denial, anti-Semitism discussed “The Phenonema of Holocaust Denial and the New Antisemitism” will discussed at Barnert Temple in Franklin Lakes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Ephaim Kaye, director of international seminars at the International School for Holocaust Studies at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum in Israel, will lead the program. Kaye has taught about the Holocaust for nearly three decades in Israeli high schools and colleges. In 1993, he was appointed director of international seminars, and has since led over 200 international seminars with participants from over 25 countries. He has organized four international conferences on the topic, and has led more than 17 trips to Poland for high school students, graduates of Yad Vashem seminars, and Israel Defense Force officers. Kaye holds a first and second degree in modern Jewish history and the history of the Holocaust from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is a published author of numerous articles and books on the subject and has been a guest speaker at Holocaust centers throughout the world.
