John Connolly of Troop 77 in Wyckoff, chose the Wyckoff Family YMCA for his community service project and decided to embellish the area around the William E. Boye Jr. Tree to beautify the grounds. Connolly approached Mark Borst, president of Borst Landscape and Design in Allendale, to help bring his project to fruition. “Mr. Borst has been known for his community service in helping many causes and was, as usual, very gracious,” Connolly said. “It was also a pleasure to work with Mr. Borst.” Borst, which designs and builds hardscapes in addition to its lawn and garden care services, donated the earth-moving equipment and an operator to prepare the site, and helped locate and acquire bricks and other materials to build the patio.
