New route for Memorial Day Parade The Township of Wyckoff’s Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for May 25, will feature a new route and start time. This year’s parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. Participants are asked to assemble at 10:30 a.m. at the Cornerstone Christian Church at 495 Wyckoff Avenue and Wyckoff Community Park. The parade will begin on Wyckoff Avenue at Cornerstone Christian Church, and turn left onto Wyckoff Avenue, continue down Wyckoff Avenue, turn right on Main Street, and right on Franklin Avenue. The parade will conclude behind town hall at the Ambulance Corps building. Local organizations, veterans, Scouts, houses of worship, and schools will march in this town event honoring American veterans. For more information, call (201) 8917000 extension 100. ‘Bustles & Business’ comes to Wyckoff The Wyckoff Historical Society will host “Bustles and Business,” a unique presentation and tea on Wednesday, May 20. The program will be held at Grace Methodist Church, 555 Russell Avenue, Wyckoff, at 10:30 a.m. Carol Greene, past chair of the New Jersey Historic Trust, and her daughter, Lindsey Greene will present the program. Shop hosts clearance sale The Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop will offer items at half price the week of May 19. On May 26 and 27, shoppers can fill a bag for $5. The Economy Shop is a non profit consignment shop selling gently used clothing and small household items to directly benefit the local schools. The Economy Shop is located in the old railroad station at 399 West Main Street in Wyckoff. Hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Chamber to meet The Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce will meet May 21 at 8 a.m. in the Kuiken Room at the Wyckoff Family Y located on Wyckoff Avenue. Wyckoff Girl Scout Troop #596 from Calvin Coolidge School recently explored The Donald M Kendall Sculpture Gardens at Pepsico World Headquarters in Purchase, New York, where they viewed 45 unique sculptures and each girl chose a favorite to sketch. This project will help the girls as they work to earn their visual arts badges.

Electronic recycle day planned The Eisenhower Service Project along with the Friends of Wyckoff are holding a recycle day for unwanted electronics on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wyckoff Reformed Church parking lot at 580 Wyckoff Avenue. All working electronic items will be donated to needy organizations and the military overseas. Electronics accepted include: radios, computers, keyboards, stereos, cameras, printers, monitors, DVDs, VCRs, telephones, televisions, cell phones and household batteries. Previous Friends events have collected over two half-ton truckloads within the three hours. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit www.FriendsOfWyckoff.org. Information on Cub Scouts offered Parents from the Sicomac and Coolidge school areas
are invited to an informational session to learn more about Cub Scouts on Wednesday, May 13 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The session will be held at Fire Company #2, located at 188 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. The doors are open so stop by. Cub Scouts starts in first grade so kindergarten parents are encouraged to attend. Town-wide Garage Sale planned The Annual Town-wide Garage Sale sponsored by the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop will be held Saturday, May 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday May 17. The cost of participation is $10. Participants will be listed on a map of Wyckoff, which will be available at the Economy Shop and town hall the week before and day of the sale. Participation forms are available at the Economy Shop located at 399 Main Street in Wyckoff.
