Multi-family sale planned The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church Booster Club is sponsoring a Multi-Family Garage Sale on May 16 Residents are welcome to rent a table for $20 and sell their toys, furniture, books, clothes, tools, exercise equipment, and other items. Items to be sold may also be donated directly to the Booster Club to help raise funds for Christian education. Midland Park Christian Reformed Church is located at 133 Godwin Avenue in Midland Park. Cooperstown team holds plant sale The Midland Park 12 year old Boys Baseball team is holding a Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity on Prospect Street. The boys are raising money to help fund their trip to Cooperstown this summer. Included in the sale will be hanging baskets, geraniums, New Guinea impatiens, marigolds, patio planters, and flats. Community Night honorees sought The Community Night Committee of the Midland Park Knights of Columbus is seeking nominations of Midland Park community members who deserve recognition. The group will recognize one outstanding adult from the community, one from the Nativity Church community, an outstanding Midland Park youth, and an outstanding neighbor. Individuals are asked to nominate candidates for recognition. Nominations are being accepted until May 15. Contact Committee Chairman Ken Gubala at (201) 310-9919. During this Community Night event, the K of C distrib-
utes donations to various local charities, presents several student scholarships, and recognizes outstanding teachers and active community members. The public is welcome to attend this event. This year’s Midland Park Community Night will take place on Wednesday, June 10. Computer basics class offered The Midland Park Library is offering “Computer Basics and Beyond” on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. John Yessis will show participants who are comfortable with a mouse and have explored e-mail, what else the computer can do. Topics will include upgrades, maintenance, word processing, and search engines for beginners and intermediate computer users. Yessis is a past officer of the Westchester and North Jersey PC User Groups. His program is open to the public. Call (201) 444-2390 to register or for more information. Olympic Day events planned Olympic Day, sponsored by the Midland Park Recreation Department in coordination with the high school track team, will take place June 13 at the high school track. Children ages five through 12 may choose from four different track and field events. The event begins with a ceremonial passing of the torch starting at 9 a.m. followed by an award ceremony at 11 a.m. All participants will receive a free Tshirt the morning of the event. Summer camp openings The Midland Park Recreation Department still has availability the weeks of June 29, July 6 and Aug. 3. There are
limited openings available in the weeks of July 13, 20, and 27. Visit the recreation website to check for more details and registration information. Remembrance scheduled The 19 Annual Memorial Day Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving held by the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church will be held May 24 at 6 p.m. There will be a slide presentation consisting of historical and current pictures of service men and women in uniform. Community members are invited to submit photos of themselves or family members who have been (or currently are) members of the armed forces. Photos should be sent to MPCRC, 183 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432, Attention: Memorial Day. Include the full name of the person in the photo, rank, dates of service, branch of the military, phone number, and address where photos should be returned. Deadline for photos is May 20.

United Methodist plans events Midland Park United Methodist Church is hosting its Annual Prayer Pal Supper on Thursday, May 7. Every woman is invited to come to this evening of fellowship whether or not they have a prayer pal. The program topic this year is “Questions.” Participants are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share. The Annual Men’s Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 7 to 11 a.m. Hotcakes and french toast will be on the menu. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from a Men’s Club member. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 269 Godwin Avenue. Call (201) 445-3787.
