One volunteer firefighter suffered smoke inhalation, one sprained an ankle, and another received a minor injury when he was bitten by a cat he rescued from the building. The injured volunteers have received treatment. Wyckoff police officers responded first and found the front of the house engulfed in flames. The only human occupant was a 20-year-old resident, who escaped injury, as did the dog and cat. The Wyckoff Fire Department extinguished the fire with assistance from several area fire departments.
