RSVP to Mike or Keri Gmiterek at kerigeee@yahoo.com, Register for summer camp Registration for the Wyckoff Recreation and Park Department’s summer camp program will be held on Friday, March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. Both registrations will be held at the recreation office at the end of Woodland Avenue. The Wyckoff Summer Day Camp will be held at the Wyckoff Memorial Field and will run from June 29 through July 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays. There will be no camp held on Friday, July 3. The camp is for children entering kindergarten through grade five in September. Camp activities include sports and games, arts and crafts, theme days, costume days, contests and tournaments, movies, parties, field trips, and entertainment by several professional performers. The cost is $70 per week and is for Wyckoff residents only. Registration materials, including a signed health and immunization record signed and dated by a physician, must be completed in full ahead of time and handed in during the above registration times. These materials have been distributed through all Wyckoff public and private schools. If a child is entering kindergarten in September, or if a child attends a school other than in Wyckoff, materials can be picked up at the recreation office. School budget hearing scheduled The Wyckoff Board of Education has scheduled a March 30 public hearing for the school district’s proposed 2009-10 budget. The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. at Eisenhower School Cafetorium, 344 Calvin Court. The board encourages all Wyckoff residents to attend this hearing to gain a better understanding of the budget in preparation for the April 21 election. Town-wide Garage Sale planned The Annual Town-wide Garage Sale sponsored by the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop will be held Saturday, May 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday May 17. The cost of participation is $10. Participants will be listed on a map of Wyckoff, which will be distributed to all kindergarten through eighth grade students of Wyckoff, with additional maps available at the Economy Shop and town hall the week before and day of the sale. Participation forms are available at the Economy Shop located at 399 Main Street in Wyckoff. The deadline for applications is April 24. Sing-along planned Following last season’s successful workshop “Sixty Songs for 60 Years: Songs of Israel at 60” in honor of the State of Israel’s 60th anniversary, Temple Beth Rishon is presenting a monthly Israeli sing-along: “Shirah Betzibur: Songs of Israel.” This sing-along is led by Cantor Ilan Mamber and takes place once a month through May 2009 at Temple Beth Rishon, 585 Russell Avenue in Wyckoff. This program is free and open to the community. Sing and play some of the songs studied during last year’s workshop, and learn new ones. Guitars, percussion, and any other musical instruments are welcome. Upcoming sessions will take place on March 25, April 22, and May 27. Maple sugaring demonstration and breakfast set The Bergen County Department of Parks invites residents to the Annual Maple Sugaring Demonstration and Pancake Breakfast at the James A. McFaul Environmental Center in Wyckoff on Sunday, March 22. Demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the sugar shack located in the picnic area. Be sure to dress warmly. The program is free. Participants are required to make reservations for breakfast. Breakfast hours are 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. The cost for adults is $5 and $3 for children ages two through 12.
