Tickets are $13 each includes fish, french fries, coleslaw, dessert, and beverage. ‘Mother Goose’ to visit library “Mother Goose” will be at the Midland Park Library on March 11 at 10:30 a.m. for a fun-filled program. Ann Coppola has worked with young children to develop imagination, an appreciation of the marvelous, a sense of fun, and the confidence to express themselves independently. Interactive story play will be used to accomplish these goals. Children will explore different worlds through movement sound and props. The program is suitable for children ages five and younger. Register in the children’s room of the library, 250 Godwin Avenue. Register for summer camp Mail in registration for Midland Park Recreation’s Summer Camp will be accepted starting March 30. The Midland Park Board of Recreation will be sponsoring a summer recreation camp for children entering first through eighth grades. The camp will feature theme weeks and activities. Camp runs from June 29 through Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a once-a-week extended day option until 3 p.m. The weekly cost is $65 for the first child, $50 for the second child, and $40 for the third child, with a $155 a week maximum per family. Space is limited and immediate registration is advised. Registrations will be taken in the order in which they are received. The Open House will allow parents to become familiar with the summer recreation program and staff and answer any questions prior to the mail in registration. Parent groups plan joins session The Midland Park High School parent groups’ general meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 18 in the MPHS media center. The business meetings will begin at 7 p.m. and run consecutively beginning with the Booster Association, PAPs, and PTA. The PTA program will begin at 8 p.m. with the Third Annual Coffee with the Principals and Superintendent. This is a time to ask questions and share information with Dr. Heebink, Mrs. Terraciano, and Mr. Capuano. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with the administration in an informal, cordial venue to exchange ideas and learn more about the school system, programs, and policies. Bowling Night aids Cooperstown team The Midland Park Baseball Association’s Cooperstown Fundraising Committee is sponsoring the Seventh Annual Bowling Night on Saturday, April 25. This adult night out will be held at the Holiday Bowl, 29 Spruce Street in Oakland from 9 to 11 p.m. the event will include two games of bowling, shoe rental, a cold buffet, and music. There will be a cash bar and cash fundraisers. The proceeds help send the Midland Park 12-year-old boys’ baseball team to Cooperstown this summer. The cost is $30 per person. Reid to present spring gardening seminar The Friends of the Midland Park Memorial Library will again welcome Master Gardener Dail Reid on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. The topic will be “Hooping it Up: A Primer on Standing Tall.” Reid is the Bergen County Rutgers Cooperative Extension horticultural consultant and diagnostician. Reid will have creative ideas for gardens this season. He will answer questions on pruning plants and how to eliminate bugs on favorite flowers and vegetables. Spring Fling Comedy Night coming up Get ready for a night of comic relief at the Midland Park Public Education Foundation’s 2009 Spring Fling Comedy Night on Saturday, March 28. The event will be held at Christ Church, 105 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. The evening will feature a buffet dinner by Personal Touch caterers, music and dancing by DJ John Gormley, special fundraisers, and a comedy show headlined by Joe Mulligan, a unique entertainer with a head for stand up comedy. Mulligan has performed all over the world with his solo act, or as an opener for many of today’s top performers including Jerry Seinfeld and Ray Romano. He will join his talents with local resident Heidi Hill. Tickets for the MPPEF Spring Fling Comedy Night are $55 each, and the foundation expects the event to sell out. Proceeds will help to ensure MPPEF’s mission to enhance the academic experience of children attending public schools in Midland Park.
