Highland/Godwin schools in Midland Park will have a new principal as of July 1. Danielle Bache, currently assistant principal at the Hillside Avenue School in Cranford, will replace Rick Triano, who retired. Joe Desiderio, a former Wyckoff principal, has been serving as acting principal at Highland since January. Bache, who last year held an interim position as acting principal of the Livingston School in Cranford, a grades 3-5 school, will oversee the entire K-6 curriculum and instruction at Highland/Godwin. Mike Healy will continue to be the building administrator at Godwin. Bache will begin her duties on July 1 at a salary of $119,750. “Few candidates for a position receive the type of universal high praise from references that Ms. Bache received,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. William.

William Shlala has been serving as interim director. Gottlieb is expected to come to the district in August at an annual salary of $125,000 (prorated). Calling Gottlieb “a gregarious individual,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. William Heebink expressed high praise for her credentials. “Ms. Gottlieb will provide Midland Park with a strong knowledge of New Jersey special education law, appropriate student placements, and current service delivery systems.
