Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • June 10, 2009 Midland Park The Bank of America branch in Midland Park will be closing at the end of August. Customers and employees were advised of the decision to consolidate operations two weeks ago. “At Bank of America, our banking centers are one of the main sources for retail sales and transactions for our customers. We continually assess our presence in every community in which we do business to ensure that we have the appropriate level and mix of stores and ATMs in each market. In each case where we have chosen to consolidate centers, there are other banking centers within a few miles of a banking center being closed. In this case, we are referring customers to our banking center in Wyckoff, less than two miles away,” said bank spokeswoman Bank of America branch set to close in August Emmanuel asks... Can You Help? Our hat’s off to Grace Nursery School in Wyckoff for the continued support through an extended food drive. These are really great people who have been there helping where it counts the most. Here is a family facing real adversity. Michael turned 11 in May. He has spent an entire year dealing with a variety of problems, the most grave of which is medical treatment for a brain tumor. It has been a year of losses for him. In the past year, he has lost his sight due to brain surgery, he lost his father and his father’s support (his father moved and left no forwarding address), he lost his home because they could not afford to live there anymore, and he has lost his social network as he cannot attend school. 4-29-09 karen/janine worked hard His mom, Nancy, has and tried to do the best she can, given the EmmanuelHelp3x.75(4-29-09) overwhelming circumstances. Nancy is 3 x .75 a brave single parent with five children (Kaitlyn, age 12; Kristen, 10; Connor, 6; and Bobbie, 8). Because they have recently had to move into an unfurnished apartment, we are asking for a variety of things to help them find some kind of normalcy in a tough situation: summer clothes for the kids (call us for exact sizes), pots and pans, bake-ware, cooking utensils, carpets, curtains or blinds, paint, lights or ceiling fixtures, a lawnmower, and major appliances (washer, dryer and refrigerator). Your contribution to the family financial assistance program helps Michael’s family and many other families who all have tough circumstances that are not put on hold because of the challenging economy. Call us to honor your father this Father’s Day by making a contribution in his name. Call us at (201) 612-8118 before you stop by. Please do not leave items at center without checking with us first. Our storage space is limited. Our current hours are Monday, 10 to 1; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10 to 5; and Thursdays, 10 to 2. Our address is 174 Paterson Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432. Our website is www.emmanuelcancer.org. As always, thank you for helping the children and their families! Anne Pace. She added that the bank is working with associates to place them in other banking centers. The Godwin Avenue building, which is owned by the bank, will be sold, according to Pace. The building also houses Ackerman’s Music Center, the original tenant since the 1960s along with Stewarts Rootbeer. When the restaurant closed, the building was occupied by Citizens First National Bank, which was subsequently taken over by NatWest and then by Fleet Bank, before becoming a Bank of America Banking Center in 2004. Citizens was the second commercial banking facility in the borough, which is now home to four other banks, including the corporate headquarters of Atlantic Stewardship Bank. rennials Pe Is hearing loss dragging you down?
