Early school registration encouraged All new borough residents whose children will be attending Midland Park’s public schools are urged to make arrangements in the near future to register their children. Accurate student counts are important for proper planning for the year ahead. Registration packets for attendance in the Midland Park Public Schools can be picked up at any school building or at the board of education offices at 31 Highland Avenue. Call ahead to make sure a staff member will be available to secure a packet for you. To register a child, a parent/guardian needs to bring an original birth certificate for the child or children; an immunization record signed by a licensed physician; a physical examination dated within the last 365 days; proof of custody if the student is not living with both parents or guardian papers, if applicable; a notarized form if student is living with a friend or relative other than the parent; a current transcript, and withdrawal grades if the student is transferring from another school system. Also required at registration is proof of residency, which may include a deed or lease agreement, and one of the following documents: a current utility bill, driver’s license, or bank statement. Attending to this registration process in the near future will help a child have a smoother start when the doors open to receive the students on Sept. 2. Association holds registration, sells clothing Midland Park Soccer Association reminds all parents and players to mail in their registration for the fall season. Registration is open to players entering kindergarten through grade 12. Forms are available at the Barn on Dairy Street, the Baseball Card Store, and the Midland Park Library. The association is selling soccer clothing. Items include: sweatshirts, crew neck and hooded, sweat pants, long- and short-sleeve T-shirts, and shorts. Call (201) 445-4532. Park Windmill Prayer Safari planned The Midland Park United Methodist Church will host its Vacation Bible School program, Prayer Safari, the week of Aug. 3. Hours are 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served to early birds, and daily fun and fellowship will be provided. There will be a food collection for the local food pantries. Soccer referees sought The Midland Park Soccer Association is looking for soccer referees for the in town fall soccer program. Referees must be in eighth grade or older and have a Rutgers Safety Card. The Midland Park Soccer Association has information about how to obtain a Rutgers Safety Card. Senior exercise offered The Northwest Bergen Senior Activity Center is offering a free exercise class, Music and Motion, to seniors age 60 and over in Bergen County. Taught by Kathy Stone, this class is for seniors who love music and want to move their bodies in response. All seniors are invited to participate. The class is taught in a chair and currently meets on Fridays at 12:15 p.m. The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center is located at 46-50 Center Street in Midland Park.
