Regional school board approves 2009-10 salaries

McMahon The Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education recently approved the salaries of many administrative staff members and others, some of whom are not covered by contractual agreements with the district’s bargaining unit, for the 2009-10 school year. The school district’s business administrator/board secretary was reappointed at an annual salary of $183,570 and the assistant business administrator was reappointed at a salary of $85,000, while the principal of Indian Hills High School was reappointed at $152,200 and the assistant principal at that school was reappointed at a salary of $130,600 plus a longevity payment of $4,980. The assistant principal at Ramapo High School was reappointed at a salary of $135,500, and the district coordinator of administrative computer services was reappointed at a salary of $96,764 plus longevity pay of $2,600. The district’s child study team administrative liaison was reappointed art a salary of $137,866 pending the completion of required course work on or before Jan. 31, 2010 and application for the appropriate New Jersey certification. Several other administrators were also reappointed, such as the director of technology at $97,863, the coordinator of instruction computer services at $69,504, the coordinator of facilities and operations at $95,613, the coordinator of multimedia services at $62,740 plus longevity of $585, the district information systems analyst at $59,488, the district staff developer at $77,094, and the district’s transportation supervisor at a salary of $56,510 plus $3,100 in longevity pay. Several confidential secretaries were also reappointed, including the executive assistant to the superintendent at a salary of $102,787 plus longevity pay of $2,844 and $9,000 as the school board recorder, secretary to the business administrator level 1 at $80,017 plus longevity pay of $3,428, confidential secretary level 2 at $63,710 plus longevity pay of $2,761, personnel secretary level 2 at $60,030, and district coordinator payroll services/confidential secretary at $60,030. Twenty-five tenured administrative assistants, both full and part-time were reappointed at salaries ranging from $20,516 to $55,965 plus longevity pay, and several instructional technical assistants were reappointed at salaries ranging from $36,592 to $49,023 plus longevity pay. Custodial and maintenance personnel were reappointed at salaries ranging from $50,176 to $56,510 plus longevity pay and black seal stipends. Full and part time security aides were reappointed at salaries ranging from $12,216 to $19,165 plus longevity pay for some of those positions. The various coaches at both high schools were reappointed at stipends ranging from $1,830 for assistant basketball and football cheerleading to head football coach at $10,186. In addition, 51 special school advisors at Indian Hills and 46 special school advisors at Ramapo were reappointed at stipends ranging from $803 for photography club co-advisor to $7,642 for the school newspaper editorial advisor. Several summer employment positions were also approved at various hourly rates. Team physicians were reappointed for both schools at a stipend of $125 per varsity football game attended with a minimum of nine and a maximum of 11. The Valley Hospital Sports Institute was awarded a $126,383 contract for athletic trainer services to the district for the 2009-10 school year.
Foundation hosts 5K Run/Walk
The Fourth Annual Angels of Hope 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Miller’s Pharmacy of Wyckoff and Nuzzi Chiropractic Family and Sports Center, is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 at the McBride Field in Franklin Lakes. Start time is 10 a.m. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the preregistration fee is $25, $30 after Sept. 5. Registration forms are online at the Angel of Hope Foundation. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individual fundraisers and top three men and women overall, and to the top three male and female in each age group.
