The Waldwick Lions Club will hold its best-ball, team golf outing at the Bowling Green Golf Club off Route 23 in Oak Ridge. Last year’s outing was well attended by teams of golfers representing Waldwick’s various organizations and a great time was had by all while raising money for the important charities that the Lions Club supports. Shop closed for summer The Clothes Line Thrift Shop, located in the Archer United Methodist Church, Allendale will be closed July and August and will re-open Wednesday, Sept. 9. This program serves many people, many cultures, and many families with children and especially helping people during a difficult economic time. Eastside High Class of 1959 reunion set The Class of June 1959 from Eastside High School in Paterson will be hosting a 50th year high school reunion on Sept. 13 at The Brownstone in Paterson. Extras sought for Verismo Opera NJ Verismo Opera is calling for extras to appear in nonsinging roles for its Oct. 18 performance of “Un Ballo In Mascjerea” at BergenPac. Foundation hosts 5K Run/Walk The Fourth Annual Angels of Hope 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Miller’s Pharmacy of Wyckoff and Nuzzi Chiropractic Family and Sports Center, is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 at the McBride Field in Franklin Lakes. Start time is 10 a.m. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the preregistration fee is $25, $30 after Sept. 5. Registration forms can be found on line at Angel of Hope Foundation. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individual fundraisers and top three men and women overall, as well as top three male and female in each age group. Singles host dance Christian Singles of North Jersey will host a dance party on Saturday, July 18 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Faith Funding provided for BVMI Community Christian Reformed Church Barn, 530 Sicomac Avenue in Wyckoff. Attire is dressy-casual. The cost is $5, and light refreshments will be served. Kennedys to perform The Kennedys will perform a lakeside concert at Spring Lake on Thursday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m. The married duo of Pete and Maura Kennedy have spun their personal experiences, musical influences and philosophical beliefs into winsome original songs that blend acoustic-based folk, rock, country, pop, and secular gospel into a delightful sound that’s all their own. Call 891-2081. Swim lessons available Every Child Should Learn to Swim programs will be held at Graydon Pool in Ridgewood for residents of Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Midland Park. The program runs Monday, July 20 through Thursday Aug. 6. The cost is $125 for 14 lessons. Registration forms are available at Graydon Pool, Ridgewood Village Hall, and the American Red Cross on Godwin Avenue in Ridgewood. Times available are 10 and 10:30 a.m. for camp registrants, and at 11 and 11:30 a.m. and 12, and 12:30 p.m. for all others. Deadline for registration is Friday, July 17. Salt Water Anglers meet Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard will present a program at the Salt Water Anglers of Bergen County meeting on Tuesday, July 21 at the American Legion Post No. 179, 33 West Passaic Street in Rochelle Park. At the 8 p.m. meeting, the Coast Guard will be on hand to explain suspicious activities that anglers should report as part of the Coast Guard’s American’s Waterway Watch program. (BVMI) received monies from the community development block grant recovery fund, through the county, for renovations to convert a building into a 3,400 square foot primary health care facility.
