To have volunteers that well trained is outstanding.” Connolly, active in Scouting and environmental projects, minimized his own role and even that of his wife in comforting the five frightened children who saw their house filled with smoke and flames. The fire started at 1:30 a.m. and caused minor fire damage and serious smoke damage on the lower floor. Inspectors said the fire appeared to have started in an outmoded appliance and was not suspicious. J.
