Wyckoff January 14, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • Page 3 Fiorenzo named mayor; Connolly and Scanlan sworn in by John Koster The Wyckoff Township Committee has reorganized with Joseph Fiorenzo as mayor for 2009, Township Committeeman David Connolly sworn to his second term, and Township Committeeman Brian Scanlan – the first Democrat elected in recent memory -- sworn to his first term. Fiorenzo is an attorney with a Hackensack law firm, a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School. Fiorenzo was first elected in 2001 and served as mayor in 2003 and 2006. Connolly, a graduate of Villanova, is a partner in a firm in the boating sales industry. First elected in 2004, he served as mayor in 2007. He has been a member of the Wyckoff Education Foundation for 10 years and is a member of the Wyckoff Planning Board and an active sports coach. Scanlan, elected in November 2008, is former president and co-founder of Friends of Wyckoff, an environmental and planning advocacy group. He is president of Thieme Publishers, which produces health sector educational material for students and physicians, and has been activity locally and internationally in charitable and environmental causes. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, has done graduate work at Columbia University, and has published articles in a number of magazines. The township committee also bade a fond farewell to Harold Galenkamp, a 25-year veteran – with a hiatus between 1982 and 1992 – of the Wyckoff Township Committee whose committee membership spanned four decades. Galenkamp, former aide to State Senator Henry McNamara, served as mayor in 1974, 1981, 1996, 2002 and 2005.
