Wyckoff December 2, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • Page 7 Police officers interrupt teen drinking party The Wyckoff Police Department recently interrupted a teen drinking party and found that many of the underage partygoers were residents of Upper Saddle River. Wyckoff Sergeant Michael Ragucci and Patrolman Ryan Tenney responded to reports of a noisy party at Fieldstone Terrace at 11:47 p.m. Nov. 7 and. as the police officers arrived. about 30 teenagers started to run out the doors and jump out the windows to escape. The subsequent investigation indicated that a 16-yearold girl who was a resident of Upper Saddle River used her father’s house in Wyckoff to host an underage drinking party. The girl hosting the party and another 16-year-old girl were transported to the hospital for treatment of a high level of intoxication. Large amounts of alcohol were found at various locations around the house. The girl was charged on a juvenile complaint with making a house available for the consumption of alcohol. In an unrelated incident, a 23-year-old Wyckoff woman was arrested earlier the same day and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, and failure to keep her lane. On Nov. 12, an 18-year-old Franklin Lakes man was arrested on narcotics charges after police investigated a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Carlton Road and Concord Place. The young man was charged with possession of marijuana. J. KOSTER Menorah Lighting planned at town hall The annual Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at Wyckoff Town Hall will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. This year, the nine-foot menorah will be made entirely of chocolate Chanukah gelt. Five of those coins will contain a winning ticket hidden under the golden foil. Winners will receive passes to Hershey Park. This free celebration is sponsored by Chabad of NW Bergen County and is open to the entire community and residents of neighboring towns. In addition to the Menorah Lighting, those who attend will be able to watch a chocolate sculptor at work; mold their own chocolate dreidels; and enjoy low-giveaways, freshly brewed hot-chocolate and refreshments, and a performance by the Beth Rishon Children’s Choir, all in a super-sized heated tent.
